ASRY Shortlisted For Three Awards

MANAMA: ASRY, the leading ship and rig repair yard in the Arabian Gulf has been shortlisted for three awards as the Mideast’s awards season gets underway.

Two came from the Seatrade Maritime Awards MEISA – set to take place in Dubai on 31 October 2016 – in the Ship Repair Innovation category for the yard’s new ‘transition to turn-key’ initiative, which has re-organised the yard to be able to provide design, engineering, fabrication, implementation and testing all in one place; and in the Corporate Social Responsibility category for its community-benefitting events, facilities, and donations.

The third came from the Lloyds List MEIS Awards – taking place in Dubai on 7 December 2016 – in the ‘Shipyard of the Year’ category for the yards overall performance through challenging market conditions. ASRY is the current holder of this award from the 2015 awards.

“We’re honoured to be recognised in several categories this year,” commented ASRY Acting Chief Executive, Magdy Mustafa regarding the triple nomination. “In the current challenging market conditions, ASRY is implementing multiple new ways to differentiate itself from competitors and go further to continue achieving market-leading customer satisfaction.”

The Seatrade Maritime Awards and Lloyds List Awards are designed to celebrate and reward excellence and innovation in the maritime sector across the region over the previous 12 months. Widely recognised as the region’s two most prestigious industry awards, the events are attended by more than 750 maritime and shipping personalities and are regarded as one of the key networking occasions in the calendar. An independent judging panel made up of experts in the regional and international maritime industry will select the award recipients at each event.
